What you will need to do in the role, and we will help you to do it:
- Contributing to the development and improvement of our IT recovery framework to ensure the highest level of reliability and recoverability for our critical systems.
- Monitoring the performance and quality of our IT recovery framework to identify areas for improvement and ensure that it remains aligned with our IT strategy.
- Collaborating closely with our GBS IT departments to identify improvement areas and coordinate alignment with IT strategy, as well as facilitating regular recovery testing for systems / applications / tools.
- Maintaining defined tiers of availability and recoverability for our systems / applications / tools to support established SLAs including RTO / RPO.
- Facilitating the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans, and ensuring that appropriate plans, procedures and all supplemental documentation are available and properly maintained.
- Collaborating with IT staff to oversee and support recovery work efforts, as well as contributing to ongoing awareness and support training sessions to improve and reinforce familiarity with baseline terminologies.
- Developing, populating, and improving metrics to benchmark maturity level and present program progress to leadership, while validating that deployed solutions meet the needs of GBS IT and its business partners (customers) in terms of resiliency, high availability, and recovery.
- Identifying gaps and overseeing and coordinating remediation activities, as well as evaluating whether backup management capabilities are aligned with recovery needs.
What skills and experience are essential for the position?
- Proven experience in managing recovery efforts within a hybrid environment, including both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery management and performing root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with backup management processes and continuity and recovery frameworks and best practices, such as NIST CSF, ISO 22301, and ISO 27001 / 2.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and influence others, as well as articulate and facilitate recovery efforts.
- Experience in a shared services environment is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and team members.
- Strong visualization skills to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Analytical, precise, and process-based mindset to effectively analyze complex technical problems.
- Ability to manage large amounts of new information quickly and understand correlations and dependencies.
- Fluency in English to effectively communicate in a global environment.
