Test Automation for SAP

Take your software development to a new level

Fast and Secure - Dual Landscape Synchronization

Digital transformation has experienced an upswing in recent years and has brought various challenges for most companies. The ability to react quickly to changes in the market and to adapt to new circumstances is important for success. A problem for many companies is that their outdated ERP system does not allow changes to be made quickly enough.

However, the race has long since begun: On the one hand, more than 70 percent of companies are currently using an outdated version of their SAP ERP solution. SAP has also announced that it intends to offer mainstream maintenance for core applications of the SAP Business Suite 7 software only until the end of 2027. On the other hand, more than 50 percent of these companies plan to upgrade to SAP S/4HANA in the next few years. The fastest of them will be able to use this to their advantage.

SAP retrofit in combination with an optimally adapted test automation strategy gives your upgrade project an enormous boost. It also guarantees the safest and most reliable approach available today.

Qualysoft provides you with a quality check: a detailed execution plan, an estimate of resources and effort, and a timeline for your return on investment (ROI).

Why you need SAP Retrofit

SAP Retrofit, also known as Dual Landscape Synchronization or Dual Maintenance, helps to maintain two SAP landscapes at the same time during the project period.

This is a very common use case for most SAP customers,

  • who do not want any downtime in their production system and
  • want to find out whether the changes made to their SAP system are compatible with the active system.

With SAP Retrofit, you can maintain, develop, and change two SAP landscapes at the same time. Two different tracks are used for this purpose: the existing SAP system is the so-called "maintenance track". The second, for example your new SAP 4/HANA landscape, is referred to as the "project track".

Perfect Solution: Automated testing in combination with a risk-based testing approach

The changes to your SAP system - either migrated with SAP retrofit or retrofitted customer-specific functionalities - must be subjected to a quality check. For this purpose, many companies rely on a large number of manually performed tests, i.e. the SAP key users have to perform a plethora of regression tests, although they play an extremely important role in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase and only focus on the most important processes should. To solve this problem, you can use automated testing in combination with a risk-based testing approach. The best time to do this is not at the end of or during your S/4HANA migration, but directly in parallel with upgrading your customer-specific functionalities.

With that you can

  • Identify your most important and risky business processes,
  • start retrofitting and
  • run automated tests at this early stage.

All in good hands with the SAP Quality Assurance Assessment

The quality assurance assessment as part of our SAP Quality Assurance Assessment is tailored to the needs of your specific SAP IT landscape and to your upgrade, retrofit and migration needs, because when it comes to test strategies and test automation, we do not believe that one and the same solution fits every system. Based on the applications that add the most value and require an increase in quality or rate of change, a detailed plan for the introduction of continuous delivery, test automation and quality reporting is created.

  1. assessment of the current situation
  2. Full enterprise test plan
  3. Maturity Matrix for prioritizing applications
  4. Detailed execution plan
  • The right approach for: Companies that are upgrading to the S/4HANA system and want to ensure that there is no downtime in their production system and that the changes made to their SAP system are compatible with the active system.
  • Effort & required roles: Depending on the complexity and scope, our management consultants usually work 10-15 days on a SAP Quality Assurance Assessment.
  • Duration and time frame: Maximum 4 weeks
